Basic Home Remedies To Counter Acid Reflux
By Patrick Sinim F
What do processed foods, junk foods, and protein-rich foods have in common. They are all bad news for your stomach. These foods can make major problems for your stomach and esophagus with acid reflux. Acid reflux is a condition that is a prelude to ulcer. The conditions in your stomach create an acid/alkaline disorder. Certain acidy foods make it difficult for your stomach to digest, creating a cramp or twitching that makes an opening for gases to form. This is an indigestion problem that has gotten out of hand and produced acid wastes to flow up to your esophagus inducing an irritation. This irritation, if not controlled, can result in ulcers and other infections. The acid reflux diet that you have been eating should now be changed. If you have any symptoms of acid reflux, you can use other methods rather than medications. You can begin with home remedies that are surely less expensive. You may start with changing your diet. You have to say goodbye to some foods such as tea, coffee, soft drinks, and other processed foods including junk food. Add some of the following to your diet: apples, pears, oranges, and bananas as well as fresh vegetables like beans, peas, and nuts like almonds and peanuts. After your symptoms of acid reflux subside you can resume your previous diet in moderation, otherwise, acid reflux will return. When your symptoms of acid reflux disappear you can start back with your normal diet. Just use restraint or else your acid reflux will return. You can also use different home remedies to clear up your acid reflux symptoms. Some examples are never lay down to eat, avoid smoking during eating, take short walks to stimulate the digestive system, avoid all alcohol during eating and chew your fool slowly. A great alternative home remedy for acid reflux is ginger tea. Have a cup of ginger tea with your meal helps keep down an upset stomach. You can also ground the ginger and add it to your food or take it in a capsule. Most herbalists recommend consuming 500mg. of ginger with a full glass of water after meals. Green tea has been used for centuries in Japan and other oriental countries as an after dinner drink. It helps the digestion and calms sensitive stomach tissue. There are other herbal teas such as peppermint, chamomile, ginger, licorice root, and catnip that help repair your stomach lining. All you need is one cup per meal to lessen acid reflux symptoms.
